I don't know what's wrong with me, but as my house gets close to "done," I've been itching for a new project. If I had the cash, I'd snatch up this property and turn it into an amazing AirBnb boutique hotel.
The listing describes it as a "turn-of-the-century beauty" and that's spot on. It was built in 1890, and is absolutely gigantic. The carvings on the exterior obviously need some love, but this place would be absolutely gorgeous with a little TLC. Inside, the ceilings looks like 12 feet and there's gorgeous crown moulding in nearly every room.
It's in East Garfield Park, which is a neighborhood in transition, for better or worse. I'd love to see this place bought by someone who will be a positive asset to the community and respect this home's history, rather than a developer who will tear it down or chop it up into condos.
6 beds, 3 baths, 3 stories, one block from the train, $329k. Somebody buy this house!
